Suga has an older brother named Min Geum Jae. Suga and his Hyung are both handsome, and fans often call them as the Min Brother. Even Min Geum Jae older that Suga, but Suga is taller than his Hyung.
Suga born in Daegu with real name Min Yoongi and he comes from a needy family. Suga and his Hyung have to work as a part-time worker to fulfill his family needs. Sometimes, Suga has willing to starve to save his money so he can come back home.
Suga gets inspiration to be a rapper after hearing "Reggae Muffin" song by Tony Skunk. He strengthens his dream to be a successful rapper in the future after hearing Epik High song called Fly. At that time, Suga was in grade 6th in elementary school.
Suga parents, especially his mother, does not agree with her son dream who wants to be a rapper. She said that Suga must focus on his study at school. She doesn't want his son living like her.
Although his dream to be a rapper opposed by his parents, Suga don't just give up. Suga always learning about music and write the song on his own. In 13, Suga has been master a music production program such as MIDI and incorporated in underground rapper team called D-Town {Daegu Town}.
To make his dream come true, Suga then decided to follow the audition held by Big Hit Entertainment. He performs his rap skill and won second place at that audition. That's how he became a trainee in Big Hit.
Big Hit Entertainment CEO, Bang Si Hyuk then offer Suga an opportunity to be one member of boy group {BTS} that he wants to form soon. After hearing Bang Si Hyuk explanation about the concept of the group, Suga agrees and accept the offer. That's how Suga become rapper of BTS.

When he was delivery the newspaper, Suga hit by a car. The people who bumped into him just left without giving help to Suga who was in pain. Suga even not tell everyone about that accident because he was afraid of losing the opportunity to debut.

His hard work is finally pay off when BTS debut at 2013.

In 2018, Suga rumored dating Korean solo singer, Suran. The rumor started when Suga and Suran work together to produce a song. Suga is the producer for Suran song called Wine, and the song reach popularity by being the top song in many kpop charts. Netizen thinks that Suga is dating with Suran because they both often wearing identical products as a couple usually does. The rumor is getting big after Suran post a photo on her Instagram account that shows what she eat-in breakfast like two pieces of bread, a cup of coffee and egg yolk with caption Yoongi {mean shining in Korean, and Yoongi is also a real name of Suga}. The caption that Suran wrote along with her Instagram post makes fans believe that both of them are dating.
But the rumor disappears after Suga agency, Big Hit Ent. through the official statement said that Suga is not dating with Suran. Both of them just coworkers who work in music production.
Suga cries after performing with BTS in American Music Award 2018. He said he was under pressure and afraid perform in front of world musicians. Even the performing was going well, Suga still cried inside the bathroom because of that.
